Hello, my name is Christian...

I was born in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico and grew up in Ciudad Constitución and La Paz. BCS, where I had the opportunity to explore the rural communities of the Sonoran Desert and developed so much love and respect for the unique flora and fauna of this region. I came to Tucson more than a decade ago. This city inspired me and has kept me active in gardening and rainwater harvesting. I am currently pursuing my Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture at the University of Arizona, where I also work as a research assistant for Dr. Bo Yang, studying the use of public parks, their microclimates, as well as best practices for the use of native plants, irrigation and green stormwater infrastructure in arid-urban landscapes. I also work with Dr. Sandra Bernal and the Sustainable Built Environments students of the UArizona Microcampus in Peru, supporting them in their preparation to have a more enriching experience during their stay in Tucson.

Since 2022, I have the honor of being part of the board of directors of Sky Island Alliance, a binational organization that works for the environment and wildlife of the Sonoran Desert mountains. I also serve as a Docent at the non-profit organization Watershed Management Group, where I am developing my thesis for my degree.
